What to Expect
Initial consultation - Approx 1.5 hrs
Your first Equine Therapy Session will begin with an assessment: taking information about your horse's history, observing your horse and a hands on evaluation. I will then tailor a therapy session to your horse using various manipulation techniques to address areas of tension in the body. I will discuss any findings as well as any aftercare advice and follow up work.
Follow up appointments - Approx 1 hr
At each follow-up Equine Therapy Session, I will ask for any updates since the last session and conduct a visual and hands on assessment for any changes.
I will then tailor a therapy session to your horse and discuss any findings as well as any aftercare advice and follow up work.
Treatment works best when it is regular, especially if there are chronic areas of tension within the horse's body. It can take some time for structures to unwind and rebalance and may require several treatments to restore movement throughout the body.
As and when appropriate, I may suggest other modalities or refer you to your vet. I am always happy to work in conjunction with other industry professionals to ensure your horse receives the care they need.
If your horse is currently under veterinary care then veterinary permission is required before any treatment (as per the Vet Surgeons Act 1996).
If your horse is in good health, veterinary consent is not required but, I will ask for your vet's details as I am obliged by my duty of care to notify your vet if any pathologies are identified during assessment or treatment.
